Absolute Surrender, by Jenn LeBlanc
Genre: Victorian Literary Erotica
The heroine of Absolute Surrender has no idea what’s to come and it terrifies her. Her place is with her family at the seat of her Father’s title Pembroke By The Sea, unfortunately, her father appears to be ill and without a proper heir to protect them she and her mother will be displaced should he pass.
To protect her family she was promised to the Duke of Castleberry, and now that she’s of an age for marriage it’s time she meets him. But Amelia is in love with another, and he’s determined to get in the way of her betrothal regardless that he is an unacceptable match. In 1883 when women are either pawns for use by their father, or property owned by their husbands,
Amelia has very little chance to find happiness while she holds a dangerous secret that could not only destroy her in the eyes of society, but could also very well condemn her to Bedlam.
What was the first thing you thought when you saw your published book the first time?
Disbelief. It was exciting, being able to buy the book, touch it, flip through the pages, it was very exciting.
When did you first decide to call yourself a writer? What prompted the decision?
I actually have no idea, it wasn’t something I did as a conscious decision. Someone else probably called me an author first and I followed along.
What is your best advice for someone just starting their first manuscript? Halfway through? Just finished?
First writing? Fantastic, keep it up!
Halfway through? Finish the book.
Just finished? Go back and start from the beginning and make it better.
